Scholarship Fund

We give four financial assistance grants of $500 and one of two $500 given over two years, for a total of $3000. This is principally raised by the annual Art Auction. The O. Dixon and Jean Marshall Fund makes up the shortfall, if any. The Scholarship Committee selects the recipients with the information supplied by the guidance personnel of the town’s schools in May. The awards are given at a noon meeting during June. To receive the award, the recipient must appear at a regular designated noon meeting and tell what the recipient’s educational goal maybe. If not collected by Labor Day, the award is forfeited and the grant returns to the principle of the scholarship fund.

Planned Giving

People give to the Rotary Club of Williamstown Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)3 fund, for many different reasons. Most people give because of a firm belief in our purpose and/or in the necessary existence of organizations such as Williamstown Rotary.

Some of these options should be right for you.

  • Outright Gifts of Money
  • Gifts by Bequest
  • Charitable Gift Annuity
  • Pooled Income Fund
  • Charitable Remainder Trusts
  • Giving Through Insurance

Community Service Funds

The club receives many appeals for financial aid from various groups in the community. The board regularly funds gifts to five groups. The other appeals are generally rejected unless of extreme need. This is because we do not have the money and we must make a special appeal to the membership. Besides the funds raised by events cited under special events, the fines and happy dollars collected at each meeting are contributed to the general fund unless designated especially.

Outright Gifts of Money

This is the most familiar, and perhaps the easiest, method of giving. This way of giving has advantages for the donor and the Rotary Club of Williamstown Foundation, Inc. as you have the satisfaction of making a gift and responding to an immediate need and this type of gift is generally easy to arrange for both you and us.
